Where are the Helmets for the Housewives?

Brain injuries are statistically more common for domestic violence survivors than NFL players. So, I ask...where are the helmets for wives?

Where are the helmets for housewives?

Is she a cat with 9 lives?

Is her brain stronger than the football players who trained for this their entire lives?

They wrap footballs players brain in cellophane, bubble wrap, straps and constant doctors monitoring

So tell me again…where are the same protective helmets for women?

When the statistics show housewives take more blows...

Blow for blow.

She is statistically more likely to have an traumatic brain injury,

More often than any NFL player, even in all his protective layers

The housewife gets no care, no helmet protecting them

No medical crew, physical therapist or scientists

Why are her injuries not taken as seriously?

Because they say she choose to be there

She choose to take his hits

Because it’s never the men’s fault who hit

It’s her fault for staying all while her brain is decaying

Her brain is just as impacted as the NFL men who are paid 20 million a year

We all see publicly how football brain injuries affect men

How it impairs their functioning for the rest of their life

But where are the same respects, protections and acknowledgement for all the millions of wives?

These wives daily lose their lives from domestic abuse…forget brain injuries

Women are forced to live in DV

There is NO SAFTEY for them to flee

The shelters are full, the courts don’t care

They will just take the woman’s children because somehow it was her fault for failure to protect

Not the man who beats and cheats

The failure is truly not hers but instead the failures of all systems put in place to protect

They only protected the abusive men instead

Where are her and her children’s helmets, doctors and lawyers, physical therapists?

Where is their safe place of protection when society calls her a liar because they cannot see inside a damaged brain?

Yet they can see inside an NFL players

When will the victim blaming end?

When will the women stop being condemned for something she didn’t do but was done TO them?

She NEVER asked for concussion after concussion…she only asked for love and a relationship

These women could NOT afford nor have the resources to just leave out the door

Society pretends like leaving is solving all her problems

As if you’ll never see that abusive man again

Ignoring the most dangerous time to leave DV is the exact moment the woman tries to flee

Society asks them to leave on their own when their brain is mush

Find shelter when they are full, a good paying job with no education or work experience from the past 10 to 20 years, take care of the kids too, handle family court alone, and handle doctor appointments if she is lucky enough to have the money for them

Where is the shelter when the shelters are full and no one you know wants to house you, three kids and a dog

So you have to choose which family comes with you

She is forced to handle being treated as nothing is wrong with her because the doctors can’t see inside her brain

The doctors instead call her insane and give all attention to the NFL playing men

The woman is to blame for not having the capacity to explain years of blunt force trauma and brain damage inflicted upon her

The woman is always to blame as we ignore the insanity of abusive men

She has injuries WORSE than any NFL player that had a protective helmet, breaks and trained with heavy weights

The woman is punished and not given TBI support from any of her cohort

But we DID hear all in the news about the NFL player that has to wear the big funny helmet because of all the damage done to his brain

Where are the helmets for the wives?

Who cares about women’s lives?

When will violence against women end?

When will their Traumatic brain injuries be taken as seriously as the men’s

When statistically it happens MORE to women

Where are the big, funny protective helmets for the women?
