The Lockup
Thoughts to ponder on incarceration and education.
You celebrate your release date like it’s something great.
But when do we celebrate the GOD within? That has always been inside.
Is it only in turmoil we celebrate and forget peace?
Did you learn not to be poor while you were locked up?
Or did you come out a bigger ‘criminal’ then when you went in?
No explanation, just charges on your fake government name they own.
I miss you, the real you.
Not the new you, you will become when you come home harder than before.
They use and treat you as disposable, yet you are needed to keep the system going, cash flowing and violence overflowing and increasingly growing.
How can you ever be free when your thoughts are not free to think?
Thinking is dangerous when you’re not free to think differently.
When the world you dream of is not reality, thinking of freedom can get you killed.
Are we truly ever free or just free to choose a safer version?
Is college the safer route?
You’re in debt by your soul and in a financial hole. The chains are not necessary.
You will work without them for the man? Chains and bars sold separately, and not necessary.
Cross an imaginary legal line once or decide not to follow the plan… then you find some steal for your wrist and still be confused what’s wrong or right.
When are we free?
You shouldn’t have been locked up in the first place. You are not a disgrace. You did not harm.
Is formal education the best route or the street route?
What if the man's miseducation isn’t really education?
Burn it all down to the ground and start again.
Let’s all find the God within.
